8:00pm
Big Brother (CBS) -- Nominations and scheming for those of us who don't watch the Showtime version or read spoilers on the internet. (Not me, I love reading spoilers.)

Cupcake Wars (Food Network)
Leverage (TNT)
True Life (MTV) -- "I have a hot mom"
9:00pm
True Blood (HBO) -- OHHH LURRRRD I'm so happy Russell is back, even if only temporarily. And vampire Tara is way more fun to watch than regular Tara.

TV Listings
8:00pm
Chopped (Food Network) (reruns)
TNA Impact Wrestling (Spike)
9:00pm
BIG BROTHER (CBS) -- This (and True Blood) is my SUMMER GUILTY PLEASURE SHOW, you guys. I'm all about this show. Now I even have Showtime so I'll be able to watch the After Dark crap. This year has 12 new houseguests with 4 previous players coming back to "mentor" in teams of three. When all three of the houseguests they are mentoring get booted, they get booted too. So the returning people are playing their own game and are not eligible for the Big Prize. Spoiler: One of the houseguests is the son of former pro wrestler "Sycho" Sid.
Wipeout (ABC)
Burn Notice (USA)
10:00pm
Wilfred/Louie (FX)
Suits (USA)
Mountain Men (History)

Tuesday Couchlock
There's nothing new streaming on Netflix today, so instead let me recommend you check out The Union. After you watch it (and I suggest you do, it's one of the best cannabis docs ever made), check out the Kickstarter to get the sequel made. And while you're at it follow Adam Scorgie, the filmmaker on Twitter, as well as the sequel's official Twitter

Wipeout (ABC)
MLB All-Star Game -- not enough medical-grade cannabis in the world for me to watch baseball, but if you're into it then LUCKY YOUUUUUU!
Cupcake Wars (Food Network) -- Tony Hawk shows up to...I guess do some rad kickflips over a kiddie pool of frosting? He's closing in on 50 so I'm sort of eager to see what kind of hairstyle he tries to pull off.
Destination Truth (Science Channel) -- Season 5 premiere, hunting for Vietnam's Bigfoot. Honestly the Science Channel is insane and could easily deserve a Couchlock column all to itself. If you ever have nothing to watch, head to the Science Channel. (Or Food Network, obviously.)
Pretty Little Liars (ABC Family)
9:00pm
Destination Truth (Science) -- Return to the Haunted Forest of Romania & Belize Goblin.
White Collar (USA) -- I will always promote any of USA's hourlong shows even if I don't watch any of them. Except Psych, which I do watch. Great show.
Storage Wars (A&E) -- I watch this way too much considering Barry is the only halfway-likeable character.
10:00pm
Tosh.0/Wokaholics (Comedy Central) -- Seriously, what else would you be watching?
Chopped (Food Network) -- This is why they made DVR.
The Glee Project (Oxygen) -- Just in case my mom is reading this column, which I highly doubt.
Craft Wars (TLC) -- This show is a real pisser. The contestants have an entire wall of crafting supplies (similar to the pantry on Chopped) that they can pull and use from and it about made my girlfriend pee her pants.
Teen Mom (MTV) -- Pure garbage, but I don't judge people for their viewing habits.
That's all for tonight, see you goons tomorrow. Stay Green!

Thursday Couchlock!
New on Netflix Instant
6 Days to Air: The Making of South Park -- A good documentary that delves into the pressures of making South Park. Nearly every episode since the beginning has been completed, from start to finish, in less than a week.
She-Ra: Season 1 A companion show to Masters of The Universe (which was added to Netflix a few days ago)
I suggest looking up Kenny vs. Spenny. The season that aired on Comedy Central in the US is on Netflix Instant. In Canada it was season 4 (out of six). There's some hilarious episodes here like "First to get a Boner loses," "First to get a stain loses," and of course, the best of the best, "Who can Blow the Biggest Fart?" You will NOT be disappointed.

Riff Raff/Kitty Pryde video
I'm still not sure what to make of Riff Raff. I've watched this video at least fifty times in the two weeks it's been out. I don't have anything against Kitty Pryde except the friends in her Okay Cupid video annoy the piss out of me. WHY DO YOU INSIST ON HOLDING YOUR DUMB CAN OF PBR UP BY YOUR SHOULDER? YOU DRINK SHIT BEER. WE GET IT. I like this video, though. Like I said, I really don't know what to make of Riff Raff, but he's fascinating.

New today on Netflix streaming
The Bad News Bears/Breaking Training/Go to Japan -- Yup, all three of the originals. You really only need to watch the first one, but the others are there if you're a completionist like me.
Boyz N the Hood
Donnie Brasco
The Fifth Element -- Wow, if you haven't seen this you owe it to yourself to set aside a couple of hours, smoke up, and experience one of the most underrated sci-fi/action/comedy movies of all time. Bruce Willis, Chris Tucker, GARY OLDMAN? Why are you still reading? GO!
Once Upon A Time In the West
Raising Arizona -- Before Nic Cage started saying 'Yes' to every movie script that landed in his lap (Wicker Man, Ghost Rider, Drive Angry 3-D, Season of the Witch, etc.) he made a few awesome movies. This is the best one. (If you were wondering, Con Air is 2nd and The Rock is 3rd.)
Red Dawn -- WOLVERINES! See it now before they remake it.
Superman: The Movie -- this is the 1978 original.

For Your Earformation: How Did This Get Made?
HOW DID THIS GET MADE?
During off-weeks, Paul will record a 'minisode' that alerts listeners to what the next show's movie will be, giving listeners a chance to watch it for the first time (or to refresh their memory of it). This week is a new episode week, and the movie is JUDGE DREDD. I've never seen it, and usually I like to wait until I've heard the movie dissected on the podcast before I seek it out. Episodes are released on Tuesdays.
Recommended Listening: Twilight: Breaking Dawn pt. 1, The Love Guru, Fast Five, and finally...Birdemic: LIVE!
Birdemic is a movie that deserves its own column, which I promise you I will write some day. If you like bad movies that fall under the "so bad they're good" category, well...then Birdemic: Shock and Terror is definitely bad. It's so bad I constantly recommend it to friends just so they will watch it and then yell at me about how bad it is. I believe it's still on Netflix instant streaming, if you are so inclined.
Sunday Couchlock
Welcome to the daily Couchlock column, where I give you the rundown of what's on TV during the primetime hours. Normally I'll try to get these up earlier in the day and hopefully this will help soome of you make good viewing decisions. Or maybe set your DVRs to grab something to watch later!
Doobtube for Sunday 7/1
(All times EST, first-run episodes unless otherwise noted)
8:00pm
Olympic Trials (NBC) Swimming followed by Women's Gymnastics
Cupcake Wars (Food Network)
The Legend of Korra (Nicktoon, repeat) -- I've never seen this show but from the way my feeds fill up on Twitter, Tumblr, and Facebook a lot of people dig it.
9:00pm
True Blood (HBO) -- Tara being turned will hopefully bring some new life to the character.
My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding (TLC)
X Games (ESPN 3D) Moto X, freestyle biking, skateboarding
Falling Skies (TNT)
10:00pm
The Newsroom (HBO) -- I caught the premiere last week, I liked it enough to give it a few more episodes to win me over. If you're couchlocked after True Blood and can't get to a remote, give it a shot. LOTS of dialogue so be prepared to pay attention.
Chef Wanted w/Anne Burrell (Food Network) -- Be prepared for me to recommend a lot of Food Network shows. I'm a big fan of many of them, especially Chopped and Sweet Genius.
Weeds (Showtime) -- Premiere of the 8th (and final) season. I caught the first three seasons of this but then sort of gave up on it. It got really weird once she went to Mexico. Should I go back and try it again?

For Your Earformation
Podcasts are a great way to relax and pass the time. I'm even listening to one as I type up this blog entry! There are podcasts for every subject you might be interested in. Cars, gardening, music, vegan cooking, basically anything you could think of. Personally, I go for the COMEDY! What follows are some of the podcasts I listen to every week. Many of them I download the episodes and listen to more than once.
Doug Benson is a very funny comedian who smokes cannabis to relieve many of the same afflictions as you readers. Many of his podcasts are free to listen to or download but he also has some for sale on iTunes. His main website (which is linked above), has many classic episodes of the podcast bundled up for sale. Check them out!
RECOMMENDED: The SF Sketchfest Show, Paul F. Tompkins & friends, Jon Hamm-Anthony Jeselnik-Paul F. Tompkins
COMEDY BANG BANG (flagship show of the Earwolf podcasting network)
Hosted by Scott Aukerman (writer for Mr. Show, producer of Between Two Ferns with Zach Galafianakis), the Comedy Bang Bang podcast (now also a weekly half-hour talk show on IFC! Check local listings!) drops every Monday morning and it's a great way to start your week. Scott will often be joined by a guest and then eventually be interrupted (thanks to his insistence of an "open door policy" at Earwolf Studio) by a second guest who is normally in character. Episodes are usually an hour long and are entirely improv'd. Instead of recommending specific episodes, I'll just tell you that any episode featuring any of the following comedians (or characters they portray) are worth a listen.
Tomorrow I'll do a write-up for the newest podcast to be added to my playlist, How Did This Get Made?
DOUG LOVES MOVIES (main website located here)
Stand-up comedian Doug Benson (star of Super High Me) hosts a weekly (although he often releases more than one episode a week) podcast podcast that he usually records at UCB Theatre in Los Angeles. Normally joined by a few friends and colleagues (i.e. actors and other comedians), Doug and company trade banter about movies for about half an hour before settling down to play some games.
- There's "A-B-C-Deez Nutz", which is basically going around naming movies that start with whichever letter is up. Winner will get to go first in the next game, which is
- "Build-A-Title", wherein the panel is given a movie title and on each turn must add another movie title that connects to the first or last word (for example, "School of Rock" can become "Old School of Rock" -or- "School of Rock of Ages"). The winner of this game gets to go first in the main event of podcast--
- "The Leonard Maltin Game", which is just "Name That Tune" with movies. First player to two points wins.
RECOMMENDED: The SF Sketchfest Show, Paul F. Tompkins & friends, Jon Hamm-Anthony Jeselnik-Paul F. Tompkins
COMEDY BANG BANG (flagship show of the Earwolf podcasting network)
- Paul F. Tompkins (himself, Cake Boss, director Garry Marshall, Lord Andrew Lloyd Weber, Ice-T)
- Andy Daly (any Dom Dimello episode)
- Harris Wittels (specifically the "Farts & Procreation" episode. Also you must listen to the four episodes of "Analyze Phish", a series of podcasts in which Phish superfan Harris tries to get Scott Aukerman to become a Phish fan. You do not have to be a fan of Phish yourself to enjoy these. I've never listened to a Phish song in my life and these were hysterical.)
Tomorrow I'll do a write-up for the newest podcast to be added to my playlist, How Did This Get Made?
